제15회 춘란배 세계바둑선수권전 개막식이 18일 중국 푸젠성 샤먼시에서 열린다.

 

한국은 랭킹 1~5위 신진서·박정환·변상일·신민준·김명훈 9단과 랭킹 19위 박건호 9단 등 최정예 멤버로 대회 4연패에 도전한다.

 

디펜딩 챔피언 변상일 9단이 전기시드로 일찌감치 본선행을 결정지은데 이어 응씨배·LG배 우승자 신진서 9단과 박정환 9단이 국제대회 우승시드를 받았다. 

 

국제대회 우승시드는 두 장으로 해당자 미달 시 랭킹 상위자에게 기회가 주어져 박정환 9단이 출전권을 얻었다. 

 

신민준·박건호 9단이 국가대표 상비군 시드를 받았고, 김명훈 9단이 지난 2월 열린 국내선발전을 통과해 마지막 티켓을 거머쥐었다.

 

지난해 춘란배로 메이저 세계대회 첫 우승컵을 안은 변상일 9단은 “부담 없이 편한 마음으로 최선을 다해서 대회 2연패에 도전하겠다”는 각오를 다졌다.

 

제15회 춘란배 세계바둑선수권전은 한국이 6명이 출전하는 가운데 주최국 중국이 전기대회 준우승자 리쉬안하오 9단과 구쯔하오·커제 9단 등 10명이 나서며 일본은 이치리키 료 9단 등 5명이, 대만과 미주, 유럽에서는 각각 1명이 우승 도전에 나선다.

 

2회전 부전시드를 받은 8명을 제외한 16명이 치르는 24강은 19일 열리며 24강 통과자와 2회전 부전시드자 16명은 21일 벌어지는 16강에서 8강 진출자를 가린다. 8강과 4강은 12월 벌어지며 대망의 결승은 내년 열릴 예정이다.

 

그동안 열네 번 열린 춘란배에서 한국은 여덟 차례로 가장 많은 우승을 차지했다. 특히 지난 12회 대회에서 박정환 9단, 13회 대회에서 신진서 9단, 14회 대회에서 변상일 9단이 우승해 대회 3연패를 기록 중이다. 중국은 다섯 차례, 일본이 한 차례로 뒤를 잇고 있다.

 

중국바둑협회가 주최하고 춘란그룹이 후원하는 제15회 춘란배 세계바둑선수권의 제한시간은 각자 2시간 25분에 1분 초읽기 5회, 덤 7집 반이 주어지며 우승상금은 15만 달러(약 1억9900만원), 준우승 상금은 5만 달러(약 6650만원)다.
